Low Maintenance Landscaping
Low Maintenance Landscaping

It doesn’t matter if you own a business, run a residential community, or just love your home, you still want your property to have that visual appeal.

It’s all about pleasing the people who live, shop, eat, or work at your space, which is why we are giving you some low maintenance landscaping tips.

Inspect irrigation systems regularly

One of the most basic things you can do to ensure a healthy landscape is checking on the water system. If you don’t set up the system properly then it won’t run when it’s supposed to and you’ll quickly notice things dying and turning brown.

Water, or irrigation systems, are nothing to be intimidated by, in fact they actually are a great help and a necessary resource. You can set up your sprinkler system on automatic so they go off on their own at certain times, on certain days. This way, you can carry on with your busy life knowing your lawn is getting the nourishment it needs.

Evaluate plant health

This can be something as simple as taking a walk through your garden, walkway, or anywhere you have your landscaping. Simply go around and monitor the livelihood of your plants. Are they green and lush? Are they producing flowers? Or, are they looking limp, brown, weak?

If they are looking good, keep up what you’re doing and don’t alter your schedule. If they aren’t looking so good however, then they either need more or less water, different soil, or maybe even a different area. You may have to contact a professional if you can’t quite figure out what’s going on.

Stay on top of fertilization requirements

Soil and mulch are what feed your plants and give them good quality of life. Each tree and plant are different and require specific alterations and maintenance. Therefore, if they aren’t getting the proper fertilization, or food, then their longevity will be effected.

You can find this information out on bags of fertilizer, or better yet, when you purchase your plants ask the provider what kind of fertilizer it requires.

If you’ve found these tips to be easy enough to do on your own then go for it, your yard will be looking better than ever. However, if you’ve found that you just don’t have to time to keep up with it all, Duval Landscaping has a wonderful service that includes so much more than mowing, cleaning up, and trimming.
